What you will learn

Learn about the quotation process - how a quote is requested, how to submit a quote and how it is then accepted and provisioned.

Tutorial Requirements

There are no real requirements for this tutorial as it is a walkthrough rather than a specific tutorial.

If you do wish to walkthrough some of the steps, you will need the following:

  • Access to the Leap Plaza Operator Portal.
  • An agent account with "Requests" permission.
  • An existing Quotation package published to the Store.1

1 To set a package to require a Quotation, select "Quotation" as the Pricing Model. See either Add a Package or Creating your first package for more information.

Concepts

Customers request a quotation in the Store. An agent reviews and submits the quotation to the customer. Upon acceptance, the package is considered 'purchased' and the normal provisioning process begins.

The following is an overview of the quotation process:

1. Customer requests quote

A customer submits a request for a quote via the Store wizard.

2. Order is generated

A package order is generated, advising the agent that the package needs a quotation. When the customer views the package order, they are notified that there is a 'Quote Pending'.

NB. The component orders are not generated until the agent specifies pricing and the customer accepts the quotation.

3. Agent submits quotation

The customer may be contacted to arrange for a quote. Once the quote amount has been determined, an agent enters this against the package order.

Once the quotation has been submitted, the customer is notified via email that their package order has been 'Quoted'.

4. Customer accepts quotation

When the customer accepts the quotation, the package order is set to New so it can then be provisioned.

Navigation

The following defines the key navigation elements - Zones and Tabs - within the Operator Portal.
