Pricing
The Pricing tab is where you set the pricing of the package. You can choose one of 4 pricing models to apply, and then set charge types and the prices themselves.
Pricing can be specified for the package, the component, the variation options or a combination of the three. NB. you must specify a price for at least one of the following:
- Package
- Components
- Variation options.
When quantities are specified for a component, the component and variation option pricing is multiplied by the quantity that the customer selects. For example, if the the component is $10 per unit, the customer will be charged $20 if they select 2 units. The Base Price (also known as package level price) is always a single charge, it is not affected by the quantity multiplier.
If Sales Tax is enabled, the Catalog Manager is expected to factor in the inclusion of Sales Tax into all aspects of the Package pricing process. NB. Sales Tax is implicitly applied to all Packages. See Setting up Sales Tax for more information.
There are 4 package pricing models available:
- Quotation
- One Off
- Recurring
- Recurring With One Off.
By default, a package is set to Recurring With One Off.
Quotation
| See How Quotes Work for information about the order process related to quotes. |
You can configure a package to require a quotation for the One Off and/or Recurring charges. Quotation-based packages require an agent to supply a quotation and the customer to accept the quotation before the normal provisioning/billing flow is commenced. If a package requires a quotation then no prices are specified before it is published (prices are specified via the Quote Pending order). When a customer requests a quote in the store, the agent then specifies the price.
You can specify two charging types for an On Quote package:
- One Off - customers will be charged a single one off fee. This can be charged either upfront or applied on bill once the package has been provisioned. Customers will be required to pay for the package once the quote has been accepted. Orders will be generated once the One Off charge is paid.
- Recurring - customers will be charged a recurring fee, based on the frequency selected. A recurring charge for a quote is specified by frequency.
A One Off charge for a quote can be specified as either:
- Online Payment - the One Off charge must be paid online before the order can proceed, or
- In Person - the One Off charge must be paid either in person or online before the order can proceed, or
- On Bill - the One Off cost is charged to the account once the order has been provisioned.
NB. The above One Off charging types apply once a customer has accepted the quoted price.

- One Off - if the package requires a one off fee, tick "One Off", and/or

One Off
When you select "One Off" for the Package Pricing Model, there are three options:
- Online Payment - customer must pay the One Off charge via an online credit card payment (part of the package purchase).
- In Person - customer must pay the One Off charge 'in person'.
- On Bill - the One Off charge is applied to the customer's account once the package has been provisioned (i.e. order is set to status of "Successful").
Online Payment
When a customer purchases a package requiring an "Online Payment", the customer is presented with an online credit card form to complete. For example:

In Person
| How to Pay instructions When setting a One Off charge to be "In Person", you must specify 'How to Pay' instructions for the customer. These instructions provide the customer with information about how and where to pay if opting to pay 'in person'. See Adding General Settings for more information. |
When a One Off package charge is flagged as an 'Online Payment', the customer is required to make an upfront credit card payment before the purchase can be completed. In some cases however, you may opt to provide an additional "In Person" option for the One Off package charge.
'In Person' means an offline payment (such as cash, cheque or credit card payment processed offline) which is made outside of Leap Plaza (for example, via a EFTPOS system) and recorded in the Leap Plaza system as an Offline Payment. See Record Offline Payment for more information.
When a customer purchases an "In Person" package, they are presented with a choice in the store wizard to pay the One Off charge either in person or via online credit card payment. The following is an example of the Customer Portal > Store > Purchase wizard screen, where the customer selects to pay either online or in person:

If the customer selects 'In Person', the One Off charge is applied to their account when the package is purchased. The orders are generated in a "Payment Pending" state. Payment of the upfront charge can be processed at a later stage, for example via a customer attending a service kiosk (hence the term 'pay in person'). The One Off charge for Payment Pending orders must be paid before the orders can transition to "New". See Payment Pending Orders for more information.

A recurring charge is specified by both frequency and the charge (the charge is applied per recurring period, for example if you select "Monthly" the charge is applied each month).
The recurring charge is always applied "On Bill". The charges are applied to the customer's account each frequency period.

For example, a home maintenance package might have a $100 upfront flag-fall followed by a $150 charge per month.
