The Components Tab

Go to start of metadata

The Components tab is where you select which components will be included in your package. You must have at least one component before you can publish the package. When the package is purchased, these components generate orders which are then provisioned by your operations team. Every component must be successfully provisioned before the package order can be considered 'complete'.

The pricing of components and their respective variations, quantities and pricing options is performed on the Pricing tab.

Add component to package

You add components to your package via the Package > Components screen. You can associate one or more components with a package. At least one component must be associated with the package before it can be published. Any associated draft components are automatically published when the package is published.

To add a component to a package
  1. In the Catalog zone, click the Components tab. The Components screen is displayed.
  2. Click Edit Components to display the Add Component to Package screen.
  3. Click Add Component to display the Select Component dropdown, for example:
  4. In the Select Component dropdown, select the component you wish to add. The component is now added, but not saved.
    • If the added component is optional, tick "Optional".
  5. To add another component, click Add Component and follow the same process.
  6. If required, re-order the components you have added.
  7. Click Save.

The following is an example of the Components screen once saved:

Re-order components

Once you have added two or more components, you can re-order them in the components list. The order in which they are displayed on the list is the same order they are displayed to the customer.

To re-order the components, drag and drop the required component to its new location by clicking anywhere on the component's grey-panel.

Optional Components

Making a component "Optional" allows your customers to choose whether to include the component in their order or not. By default, components are included in the package. You can specify that a component is optional via the 'Optional' tick box next to the component.

For example, you have a "Lunch" package with three components, "Sandwiches", "Drinks" and "Delivery". We set Sandwiches to be included by default, but set Drinks and Delivery to be optional. In the store, the customer will generally purchase Sandwiches (being the primary purpose of the Lunch package), however they can optionally select Drinks and Delivery if they wish.

Remove a component

To remove a component from the package, click the Remove link beside the component on the Add Components to Package screen.
