 | Removing a package cannot be undone. Once a package is removed, it cannot be edited or re-published. You can however copy the package and re-publish it, if required. |
When a package is no longer required or is being superseded, you can remove it from the store. Removing a package removes it from the store so customers can no longer purchase it.
NB. Customers with existing orders or active subscriptions for the package are not affected when the package is removed.
Automatic removal
Optionally, you can specify a future removal date for a package. When the date is reached, the package is automatically removed. You can change the removal date at any time before the removal date is reached.
Replacement Package URL
Your customers may have copied the URL of the package in the store, or been provided with a link to the package in an email or similar. In such a case, you must specify what will happen when a customer navigates to the URL of a retired package when you retire it from the store.
Upon retiring, you are prompted to select a replacement package URL. Alternatively, you can select no replacement and no redirection will take place.
If you select a replacement package URL, when the enters the URL of the retired package, they will be redirected to the replacement package URL. If no replacement URL is selected, the customer will see a "Unfortunately this item is no longer available. Back to store" message on the Package Details screen. For example:

Removing a package
- Navigate to the Catalog zone.
- Click on the Packages tab.
- On the Packages list screen, select the package to be removed.
- On the Package Details screen, click the Remove From Store link. For example:
- A pop-up window is displayed. Select either a replacement package URL or no replacement package. See above for more information.
- A confirmation pop-up is then displayed. Click "Yes" to proceed.
The package is removed the store.
If you selected a replacement package, it is displayed on the Store details screen. For example:
Changing the replacement URL
Once you have removed the package, you can change the replacement URL at any time.
- Navigate to the Catalog zone.
- Click on the Packages tab.
- On the Packages list screen, select the package to be removed.
- On the Package Details screen, click the Change Replacement link.
- A pop-up window is displayed. Select a replacement package. Optionally, you can select no replacement package. In such a case, the customer will see a 'page could not be found' message.
- A confirmation pop-up is then displayed. Click "Yes" to proceed.
The replacement package URL is updated.
