You can copy an existing component regardless of what state (Draft, In Use, Retired) the component is in.
The newly copied component is set to the 'Draft' state, with a default name of "Copy of <original component name>" and any default codes specified of "Copy of <original code>. NB. The name and code may be truncated if it is too long. All other fields of the original component are copied to the new component.
Once you copy a component, you can then make changes to it as you require.
To copy a component
- Navigate to the Catalog zone.
- Click on the Components tab.
- On the Component List screen, select the component you wish to copy.
- On the component details screen, click the Copy link.
A draft copy of the component is created.
